This book had SUCH a good premise, and it started really well. But it all went downhill for me when the sister turned into a cartoon villain muttering to herself in the dark. The cool story about calling the dragon-thingies (I forget what they're called) took a back seat to the romance, which got a bit too swoony for me. Don't think I'll bother continuing, which is a shame because the world building was really good and it was a brilliant idea. The author gave me this book for an honest review.I was in a search of a good book to read when T.J Shaw sent me an email asking me if I wanted to read “Caller of Light” and write a review. So, I read the blurb and I thought that I should give it a try. Best decision ever! This book is amazing and exactly what I wanted to read! With a wonderful world-building, with kingdoms, kings and beautiful and powerful creatures, the Critons! This story has everything I love in a book of this genre: romance, adventure, betrayal and shocking revelations. Also, it has a very good characterization. So, a few words about the story. Carina is a young woman of mix royal blood and her father and half-sister always treated her badly. When she found herself in the company of another king, everything in her life changed and she realized that she has many things to learn!I really liked Carina! She is an amazing character! She’s brave and strong without losing her innocence. She’s a free spirit and the only thing she wants in her life is to be loved for what she is and to love in return. Her courage is beyond words and her stubbornness also! Everything she did in this book, she did it so others can be safe. She’s a badass in way!I loved Marek also! Although, he did many mistakes in this story, he’s a very nice person. It’s obvious that as king he’s reluctant with everybody and he can’t explain why he wants Carina so much. I loved the way he was protecting her and the fact that he’s the kind of man who is not afraid to listen to reason!A very nice story and plot that kept my interest from the first page until the last! I recommend it to all the fans of this genre!
