Cancelled (The Red Ink Collection, #1) (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
I wasn't going to write a review, because my thoughts on this book are really mixed. I liked the Male POV, I liked that it was about how to appease all the important women in your life, and liked that the solutions weren't "instantly" solved. However, because it was from a male's POV, the fact he lacked to actually communicate his thoughts and feelings, sort of puts men on a stereotypical plane of "They only talk when the other shoe drops." Dislikes: *There was WAY TOO much discussion about the work they do. I found self feeling a little distracted/bored with all the "work details".*For a book labeled as "romance", it was uber clean, behind the scenes, no detailing of the lust he hung on to for such a long time. I felt that the author was vague on how Johnathan felt after waiting for so long to be with her. I also felt the author could have explored more on how he felt when the betrayal came to light. It was a light read, but I have a hard time labeling this a romance book. I would have put this as reflective, relationship sort of read. The cover and the synopsis are deceiving. I wasn't as happy with this book as I thought I'd be. The story started great and then went down hill. Had Jonathan come clean right away, I think everything would have turned out better for everyone. I was really hoping Jonathan and Alex would be able to work things out but when he started spending more time with Kellie I knew it wasn't going to end favorably. HAE for baby mama but not the girl of his dreams due to his own stupidity and selfishness.
