Captivating Bridge (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

This book here.... WOW! It's all I can say! I have not liked War since book 1. He is cocky, rude, self centered and I could go on for days. In this book he is much the same.. He meets Shaina in a very compromising way. She tries to help and he tries to take advantage. I wanted to strangle him and then strangle her for allowing it. Reading how she feels about War and the situation is relatable for a lot of people who are in love with someone. Some will tolerate a little, some a lot, some none. Then there are some that just tolerate too much of the nonsense. Well War crossed the line in this book! Totally. He doesn't deserve anything good. Well he didn't anyway. He redeemed himself and I think this book in this series kept me glued to the pages the most. To read what he went through and how he felt.. Ugh... you can't help but feel kinda sorry for him. *But not his actions. I'm glad Shaina and his friends were able to make him see the type of ass he was and that he was able to overcome his struggle. I am hoping to read more about Rob and Shaina because with everything going on, I don't believe their story is complete. If you don't mind the music, crude language and some uncomfortable compromising situations then you should totally read this series. War...a one man island. He'll bent on destruction, angry at his past. Scorned and hurt he lives only to numb his pain. Until he meets Shaye. She brings out in him, well, his humanity. Just one night with this bubble gum girl has him seeing things in new light. With any light at all, actually. They're an unlikely couple, War and Shaye, brought together by the pain of their past. They're both running away, ending up on the same bridge. one trying to save the other and in the end both saving each other. Captivating Bridge was really good. It's more than a rock star romance with sex holding the story together as some books do. There was depth to this book. It's about self discovery and dealing with some heavy emotional issues that aren't comfortable to deal with, let alone write about. Michelle Mankin did an awesome job of touching on these issue and shedding light without making the story heavy with it. Captivating Bridge perfectly tied in,thus far, the two previous books in the Tempest series. It's sexy, heartfelt, heartbreaking and heartwarming. Ya, it's intense...definitely staying true to War's character. Michelle Mankin hit another out of the park, IMO. I don't normally read rockstar romances but I will not hesitate to read about any of Michelle's sexy rockstar bad boys!

What do You think about Captivating Bridge (2014)?
