Okay, the synopsis and the actual book didn't totally fall together like I thought they should (synopsises are ridiculous things), BUT I still enjoyed it immensely. Really. I laughed my butt off more than once. It wasn't exactly an apt title or cover, comparing that to the actual content, but that doesn't diminish from the book itself. Hell, I still didn't solve our problems before our characters did. I like that. I don't necessarily like a totally predictable book. At least not every single event being ridiculously predictable to a T. High points for entertainment value and because Sherry Thomas weaves a grand tale. Not as grand as her Elemental one, but satisfying nonetheless. I've expected an easy story, but it was full of angst, much better for me though, as I like my books to be more real, bordering to life.. The story has twisted and turned,on itself. It was good, believable and Mrs Thomas wrote it intelligently..the remnants of a supposedly idiot and then the way she saw past his facade, are both explained masterfully. I can't figure out, just what exactly then, that I did not like..perhaps,even though she has managed perfectly,I didn't like the preference of this particular plot. I'll try to explain,First,I want to see the proof, how everyone's fooled by his actions.was it overrated?..no it wasn't.checkSecond, I don't want her to be enamored by him, cause she couldn't respect him and that left only physical attraction. And I didn't want that early on the book.Third, I want him to drop the act but in the meantime, I want her to figure it out by herself..See, these conflicts,if one can call them that, not only have left little space for them to get acquainted, but also have tired me and made me wish for an other way to go about them.
What do You think about Celle Que J'attendais (2011)?
I liked it but sadly, this one was not my favourite of the author. 3 stars.

Liked this one a lot, mostly because of the hero. Fun read.
