She almost took off her heels and walked barefoot, but she didn’t want to cut her feet on broken glass or something. That would have ended what was the best date of her life on a sour note. She needed to get herself together and find a second wind. Because the night was far from over. She’d been good, very good. And Austin had promised a reward. They’d sat in the booth waiting for a check and Austin hadn’t touched her other than a couple of caresses on her hand. She thought she’d done something wrong, but then he explained that he needed to calm down or he’d make a scene when they walked out of the restaurant. She’d glanced at his pants, saw the thick ridge straining against the zipper, and shut her mouth. He was more demonstrative as he helped her into the car, leaning down to press a kiss to her temple before shutting the door. When he started the car, she closed her eyes. “You’re not going to fall asleep on me, are you?”
