Chasing After Infinity (2000) - Plot & Excerpts

So in starting this book, I was completely confused by the constant inconsistencies. About half-way through I learned that the book had been edited and re-released in Dec, and I have the old version. I cannot give a fair and accurate review knowing that some of the issues I had with the book may or may not have been addressed during editing, but here is what I do have to say: The story line was good but some of the events were just not believable. It was weird to realize about 80% of the way in that the language switches to that of the British, which probably explains the inconsistencies in locations and distances. My version had an issue every couple of pages most of them dealing with the timeline and minor details like the make of a car or names. About half-way is when I decided to quit jotting them down or I was never going to get through the book. I finally finished it and I feel exactly the same way I did when I started: confused. The ending didn't make a lot of sense to me, so hopefully that was addressed in the re-write. I'm hoping at some point to get hold of updated version so I can re-read and give a more accurate review, but for now my advice is to make sure you have the edited version before you start this book. I have alot of issues with this book. A big one being the editing. The author needs to write down her facts because I honestly got confused while reading this.1. They wait an entire year to bury her mother?!?! 2. She says its her first Xmas without her Mom. However before that shes talking about the year anniversary of her Mom's death. If its been a year since her mother's death this would be her SECOND xmas without her.3. Adrian's adopted parents say they adopted him when he was a baby. Yet he talks about being placed in foster homes, and that his parents sent him away at age 3.4. GET AN EDITOR! Sooo many misspellings. I understand people make mistakes and misspell a word every once in awhile. BUT, when you are asking people to spend their own money to buy your book, at least reread ONCE to edit it.
