I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.I'm loving the cover art! The note of caution added by Eden Butler tickled me pink, it's honest, hilarious, and well they have been warned! :) The dedication is beautiful and sentimental ♥AUTUMN~ My heart aches for the pain she's had to endure, but I identify most with her at the the loss of her mum, and this is what instantly attracts me to her because loss is our common denominator.DECLAN ~ Chiseled and inked is my kryptonite, so Declan won me over with no effort lol :) but what's not to like and then there's the accent as an added bonus! Along with the good looks come a rather cocky attitude he's also sarcastic and let's just say there's nothing lacking in the self confidence department :)Put the 2 together and we have what starts off as an alliance and then develops into a rather intense and passionate relationship!"Chasing Serenity" is well written and keeps your attention. Characters are easily identified with, and there are a few plot twists. There's also an emotional element I went from "bitchmode" to "snotfest" a couple of times lol. This is a story of heartache, loss, and deception, and how it changes us and how we deal with it and how we recover. It's about redemption, forgiveness, and reconciliation.A ★★★★★ read which I'll easily recommend .Reviewed by Heidi I received a gifted copy for an honest review.4 Stars!Autumn McShane is a graduate student at Cavanaugh College. She is struggling to move on from a horrific car accident that left her battered and broken and her mom dead. Autumn feels she has known only loss and heartache over the last 8 years of her life, with the abandonment of her father at age 14, a controlling boyfriend that left her to pursue his own dream and then the most recent trauma of witnessing her mom’s death. Even though she seems to have a lot of negative in her life, Autumn 3 really great friends that are with her through everything and share her love of rugby. Then she meets a hot, new rugby player for Cavanaugh College who has just come over from Ireland, Declan Fraser. From the moment of the drunken kiss Declan lays on her, Autumn is thrown off balance, and starts to change her mind about not opening up to any new relationships. From experience, she only ends up hurt in the end. Every time Autumn tries to keep her wall up against Declan, he does something funny and endearing to take another chip out of the wall. Declan has also suffered the loss of his mother and understands the pain Autumn is going through. He also helps Autumn to become physically stronger after the car accident. Just as things are really starting to progress for Autumn and Declan, there is a twist in the story that can end any possibility of a future for the two. Can Autumn move beyond the heartache she has suffered through all these years and embrace a future with Declan? Will Declan be able to convince Autumn that love is worth the risk? This is a really great story about moving past great loss and tragedy and opening up to love again. Eden Butler is very descriptive in her writing and giving the reader a full picture of the story even though the story is only in Autumn’s POV. This is the first book in a series, however it does not end in a cliffhanger. Autumn’s friends have plenty of personality and I will definitely be reading the rest of the series to see what happens to them. I would definitely recommend this book to others!
