I am a cheapskate. It was fun to read this book and resinate with a lot of it and get some good ideas too.You can live HAPPILY below your means!"Wantonizing our needs"=when what we have still works, but we just want a new one.Consume things sparingly, thoughtfully, and fully so things don't consume you.Fiscal Fast=one week out of the year go that whole week w/out spending money.Buy quality stuff when it is marked down. There is a difference between a premeditated shopper (prior planning/delayed gratification) and a bargain hunter (only buys it because it's a good deal). Spending less and spending smart.Acquiring assets vs. buying disposable commodities"The most important economy is the one you create for yourself." I've been on a bit of a frugal kick and this was a good refresher on how other frugal people live. The only thing that irritated me about the writer wad his voice - there wasn't a single joke he was willing to let lie and the book was replete with annoying common parlance eg. "pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered." the only place I felt like it was easy to read was the stationary bicycle at the gym. All in all, some good stuff here but annoying writing.
Reading for second time, very informative given my economic status.
