It's strange for me to do a review for a wattpad story. Some are good, some are bad, and others are exceptional even by published standards. This book is one of those on that website that really holds value both in plot and writing style.Perhaps I am biased. The author has a very strong voice that I love. It is clearly audible in this book. There is one point that I would like to concede to. This story of hers in particular is a little bit shallow compared to her others. If it were fleshed out a little bit more that would make it perfect. As it is, there are definitely some very deep topics here. The author is fantastic at bringing controversial subjects into play. She pulls it off perfectly, leaving the reader to come to a conclusion about how they feel. This is a good read, and I recommend it. I was a bit hesitant to start this one at first because I didn't think it could be very interesting. However, I was only a few pages in when I fell in love with it. The writing style of this author is absolutely amazing. The style is so poetic, and each word is used eloquently. There is a certain type of realness to this novel; I don't know how to describe it better than that. This isn't just another one of those fluffy wattpad stories. This story adds deep, real life issues to the characters. This was an amazing short story and I'm glad it won a watty award!I'll also confess to trying to do the whole cherry knotting thing. I failed probably because I was trying to use an apple stem (which was very stiff and broke in half) since I didn't have cherries.
What do You think about Cherry Knots (2013)?
A really good short story. I wish the writer had of made it into a full length book though.
