Chicken Soup for the Cat & Dog Lovers Soul is a collection of heart-warming and hilarious stories of people and their pets. The title may say cats and dogs but the stories include other cool pets. One of the most common would be horses. If you really love pets, than this is a perfect book for you. I gave this book three stars because the stories were cute, but some of them were long and boring. Most of them were very interesting though. My favorite one was of a little boy, whose mother and father had just bought a horse but the little boy was too young to ride it. Though the bot couldn't ride the horse, he and the horse developed a special bond. The horse would roam around the backyard at night and then nudge it's nose in the little boy's bedroom window. One day, when the boy's mother went to check on him during his nap, she found he wasn't in his bed. The mother checked everywhere and then she decided to go outside. Out there she found nothing. She saw the horse lying down and jerking it's head in a funny way. She kept looking outside. The horse jerked it's head again. The mother went over to see what was wrong with the horse. There she found her little boy tangled up in the legs of the horse. The horse was jerking it's head because if it stood up it would send the boy tumbling. I love that story! I recommend this book to any animal lovers or pet owners. You may discover how important you pet really is.
I have just finished reading my first and probably the only Chicken Soup book. Books about searching for soul enlighten is not my kind of read. I finally read one Chicken Soup book because it talks about pets, and you can see from my turtles’ blog how much I love my pets.This book is already translated into Indonesian Language. I borrowed it from my friend who has at least 10 cats, she is such a cat lady :) . Overall, I enjoyed Chicken Soup for the Cat and Dog Lover's Soul , but didn't love it. Don't get me wrong, it is worth the read for animal lovers. However, perhaps it is best suited to be read at leisure like a devotional, one story a day upon waking up. The stories proved to be helpful therapy for me as I dealt with the grief of losing my own beloved pet. But, they just didn't tug at my heart strings like I envisioned they would and I think this has to do with the mediocre writing.Read full review here: http://www.lavenderinspiration.com/20...
