This was such a delightful read. It's the first time I've read such a long story from the perspective of a cat. It has made me think a lot about the relationship with my feline friend and maybe, just maybe she feel's a bit the way Chi does throughout this book. Filled with human emotions of owning a new kitten with an imagined insight so great you might just forget a woman wrote these cats thoughts. On top of all the great things I've already mentioned, the illustrations are adorable and colored with beautifully vibrant tones. Very cute kitten gets lost from its siblings and mother cat. The family that finds it can't have cats in their apartment but the kitten is just SO adorable, they try to keep it. This is the tale of a family that does not really know what to do with a cat and a cat that doesn't really know what to think of people. There are some Japanese references (chi, yen) that might be missed by young readers but there are so few words it is pretty accessible.
Such a cute story of a kitten finding her place in a new home!
