Christmas In Cedar Cove: 5-B Poppy Lane\A Cedar Cove Christmas (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
There are two novellas in this book. The first one is 5B Poppy Lane and should be read between books 5 and 6 in the Cedar Cove series. This is a short novella, but don't miss it!! Helen and her granddaughter Ruth are very close. One day, Ruth brings Paul, a Marine she has been corresponding with, with her to visit Helen. Paul reminds her of Jean-Claude, Helen's first husband when she lived in France during WWII. Helen begins to relate breathtaking and unimaginable "adventures" she and Jean-Claude were involved in during the war. This is the first time she has ever opened up about these facts and the family is astounded. The second novella, Christmas in Cedar Cove, should be read between books eight and nine. It introduces Mary Jo Wyse and her three Wyse brothers who are bent on finding their very pregnant run-away sister. Mark McAffee, an EMT with the Cedar Cove fire department, plays a vital role in delivering Mary Jo's baby and a very special relationship develops between them. There is a good bit of humor, as well as help for Mary Jo from caring strangers like Grace Harding. Have omnibus edition on kindle but just planning to read Poppy Lane story at this stage to fit in sequence of cedar cove books, will review on individual book listings once finishedReview of 5b Poppy LaneI read this in a kindle version of omnibus Christmas in Cedar Cove which includes this novella and the novella that slots in between books 8&9 of the cedar cove series.I'm not sure why this slots in at this point in the series as apart from the inclusion of Charlotte from previous books who is friends with Helen a character in this story this is quite easily a stand alone novel in itself (at least you don't need to have read the previous 5 books to follow the story), whether this story contains information that will be relevant to future cedar cove books I can't yet say but moving onto book 6 to find outMeanwhile I enjoyed the story and it made for a lovely evenings readingWell got to book 8.5 A Cedar Cove Christmas in this series so continuing onto second book of this omnibusReview of A Cedar Cove ChristmasWell stayed up until the early hours and read this in one sitting!!! 4.5/5 lovely festive read about new character Mary Jo visiting Cedar Cove at Christmas time in search of her unborn baby's father and finding something else instead....the friendship of regular Cedar Cove characters but for any more storyline you will just have to read it Lost half a star for the cliche's used through the storyline though funny were a little over the top overall
What do You think about Christmas In Cedar Cove: 5-B Poppy Lane\A Cedar Cove Christmas (2010)?
It was horrible. Very slow reading. Not one of her better books.
