Christmas In Wine Country (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
This was a fun book to read, and I did laugh out loud several times. However, I could only give it three stars because: 1.) It was VERY poorly edited. Not sure if it's just the kindle edition, but there were several repeated words, grammatical errors, and other obvious mistakes. It was very distracting. 2.) The ending was awful. It felt like an abrupt stop - no closure to all the build-up. 3.) It had almost nothing to do with Christmas. The title is 'Christmas in Wine Country' - I really would have liked some Christmas in the story. I absolutely loved this book! I don't think it was a romantic comedy though. I think it was chick-lit all the way. I loved getting to see the progression of Lila. At the beginning of the book she really annoyed me. But by the end I totally was routing for her. I also loved the fact that 2 days after she and her love interest met they weren't head over heels in love with each other. It was more about Lila finding out who she is and coming into her own skin than it was romance. Loved it.
