It's a fascinating tale of circus and courage, grief and discovery. I loved the setting and the writing. The characters are a surprising blend of contradictions and teasing glimpses into normalcy. They work together well even though they seem to be the complete opposite. The setting coupled with the characters gives the book a deep tension which is a joy to read. So why only 4 stars? It is the sex. It's not bad sex, it is fairly common sex for the genre. I am told that his hand does something - I am not shown it, I am not made to experience it. The sex is unimaginative and short, livened up by throwing in BDSM elements rather than making the sex more present to the reader. This was my first Annabel Joseph book - why did I wait so long?!? This book was beautifully written and captivating. The cirque and the performers vividly came to life through the book - I wish I could really go see Cirque de Minuit. The relationship between Kelsey and Theo developed at an exciting and supremely sexy pace. They grew from the tragedy, self doubt, and insecurities plaguing each of them and found strength in each other. I just loved the book and could not put it down - oh, and it was HOT, HOT, HOT!
What do You think about Cirque De Minuit (2012)?
I really hope this is the start to more books in the Cirque world. Loving this theme already.

Really sweet read...a BDSM love story with a really hot scene in the Citadel.

Great writing, as always, but these characters were annoying and unlikable.
