Cleansing Of America, The (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
I don't know how to describe how I feel about this book. In a fictional perspective, I found it fun and exciting in a "Chronicles of Narnia" way. But as a reality, I feel like the author took a lot of scriptures completely out of context. Some of his references were false, as I had studied some of them before ever picking up this book. The title is misleading, as the the real "cleansing" is only found in the first few chapters, if that. I don't even remember reading where Christ comes triumphantly back to earth as it states in the book of Revelation. Most of this book was about law, Zion's law, and how a Zion society would be set up. I skipped most of that stuff. The parts I did read were a little ridiculous and obviously his own thoughts. How does anyone know how insurance companies will run a Zion society, or how banks will work? If you are looking for one man's personal idea on the events leading up to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, this is a great book. If you are looking for the true events that will happen, read and pray over the things found in the scriptures. Clarified much of the events of Revelation for me as well as the Doctrine and Covenants, and presents a vision of hope and peace in the tribulations to come. America's destiny will not be determined by the "Gentile culture", though its not of any use to inform them of this. The format of the book is a little jarring, meaning it doesn't exactly flow from one chapter to the next. However, it serves well for referencing this material in future discussions.

A really fun read for LDS about the last days.
