Why on earth did she kill Martin? It seemed gratuitous and to serve no purpose. Also the plot in this one was very lackluster. This book is my least favourite so far. Finally, where is Charles? The clumsy shelving of him is annoying and useless after all that build up in the first 3 or 4 books. Come on! Clumsily shelve Charles and gratuitously kill Martin...must Liz be doomed to singledom. I've read all the books in this series, and I have to say this is the weakest of all of them. The story itself is not so complex that it requires the 340+ pages to tell the story. It would have been more suspenseful if it was tightened up somewhat. The storyline is certainly "ripped from the headlines" as they say, with it revolving around home-grown Islamic terrorists. So that, at least, kept my interest.
Enjoyable easy reading - I always look forward to each new instalment in the Liz Carlyle series.

I've enjoyed this series. This one had sadness, but they got the bad guys!
