Closed Hearts (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

It was ok. This felt an awful lot like filler or a continuation. We meet some new and interesting characters, but it basically is the same "problems" and the same theme. Kira isn't super impressive, she doesn't seem to have grown much. But she thinks her answer is to hide. The new characters aren't really compelling to me. I wouldn't want to fight with them either. They never ask for her help and explain why. It's a weird kidnapping and trying to force some one to comply situation. It doesn't make sense to me why they would do that. There are some interesting technological advances and the way the story goes is fairly interesting, then tragic. But it mostly irritated me. I started reading Closed Hearts as soon as I finished Book # 1, Open Minds. Kira is a special talent among a world of mostly mind readers. Apparently, there's a small percentage of people who can actually control the minds of others, it kind of reminds me of a vampire's compulsion, to put it into perspective. They are called mind jackers. I think the author was brilliant to come up with this idea and the variations of special talents among the mind jackers. Kira has her own special abilities and must overcome even greater challenges in this story than the first one. Of course, I won't go into the different variant abilities of mindjackers because I think it would spoil the surprise. The author has a great way of introducing these characters and their abilities. There are interesting futuristic devices and I found this to be an excellent science fiction adventure. I hope the author writes more science fiction.

What do You think about Closed Hearts (2012)?

A predictable sequel. Getting sick of the heroine. Probably won't read the next book.

Well this got unexpectedly sad at the end. *sniff... Need the third one, please!

Interesting idea, but I got tired of the breathless young love.
