This was a prison romance. It wasn't hearts and flowers. It was a story about 2 men who were locked up and for a very, very short time, found comfort in each other.Lem Porter was in prison for killing his brother and Anderson Passero was in prison for running drugs out of his night club. Lem was a lifer and Anderson had about 8 months left on his term. One had nothing to look forward to, the other had life on the outside to keep him sane, but in prison, everyone's pretty much in the same boat. This story was like one of those Locked Up shows on MSNBC. No real happy endings and all that. though this book has more left to give. Anderson and his ex-partner Jacob have unfinished business, and Lem still has to explain what happened the day his brother was killed. In a way I enjoyed reading this story but overall it could not give me what I was looking for. I would have wished for the two protas to have more time to actually interact with each other (beside the sexual encounters). You are already halfway through the story before they ever have a simple conversation and then it felt a little bit to rushed for me. Especially Andersons turn from being scared to death to becoming quite horny was something I didn't expect to proceed that fast. And apparently I don't care enough about the couple or just felt not enough 'romantic vibes' to long for a hea and instead am perfectly satisfied with how it ends.
What do You think about Cold (2013)?
Lem made me cry a lot. I can only hope there will be more to his and Anderson's story...
