The moonlight streamed through the open window, illuminating her peaceful expression. The small tension lines that were normally at the corners of her eyes had disappeared. It was the first time I’d seen her without them. I brushed my thumb over her smooth skin and vowed that if all it took was some mind-blowing sex to relax her, I was certainly up for the task. Literally. All I had to do was look at her or picture her bending over for me back on that porch and bam—instant erection. I could wake her up, was dying to in fact, but the gentlemen in me wasn’t having it. She was at peace, exactly where she’d stay as long as she liked. But when she woke up, all bets were off. Now that I’d had her, I wasn’t sure I’d ever be able to get enough. It was the fever. But more than that, she was my mate. Mine. The word reverberated through my mind, filtered through my body, and filled my soul. She was mine. And I was hers. I knew without a doubt that my entire life had just changed. She was a movie star, a darling of the big screen.
