The sassy Savannah Reid mysteries ares always a fun read and could cheer me up anytime, and is a perfect antidote for a bad day. However, I don't know if I just read too much mystery novels to guess whodunit. This time I did but only it was because of my own hunch. The killer is almost always the least suspicious in any mystery novel. The usual humor and Savannah-Dirk tandem is classic, you're gonna think such a frugal guy like Dirk would pay his ex-partner long time friend for the help but it turns out the donuts are freebies. GA McKevett's writing style is as narrative as ever especially the way she describes Savannah's relationships with other people. Savannah's pregnant sister joins in the riot when she travels all the way from Georgia with her devilish twins to crash/celebrate Christmas with family and other guests. Given this 4-star rating, I'm still looking forward to reading all her books.
