Cosa Indossare Al Primo Appuntamento (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.I tend to find a lot of British chick lit pretty slow, and unfortunately this one fell in that category for me. While I enjoyed the story perfectly fine, it just seemed to take forever to progress through the chapters. I found so many scenes and sub plot points that didn’t seem wholly necessary, and wished it had been shorter so my interest could have been kept easier. I liked the basic storyline – Tansy taking over Cinderella’s Slippers and the possible love interest between her and Ivo. If there had been more focus on those main points I think I would have enjoyed this story a lot more. Still cute chick lit, just not my favorite. This heartwarming novel is a chocolate box of delicious, tempting delights waiting to be enjoyed!Full of dry humor and wit, laugh-out-loud moments this is classic chick-lit at its very best by an outstanding author. I adored ‘Twelve days of Christmas’ by Trisha Ashley and so was delighted at having the opportunity of reading more of her work, which similarly to many other chick-lit books is a real ‘feel good’ story. Ideal for the woman who dreams of Jimmy Choos, chocolate boxes with ribbons and wedding dresses by Viviane Westwood this is a book that is as stylish as ‘The Devil wears Prada’ with as much class as ‘Sex in the City’! Totally lush this tantalizingly tempting treat is a must-read, and one that I recommend for slipping into handbags or ideal for the Coffee shop break. Complete with EXCLUSIVE recipes by Tricia Ashley that are mouthwatering and delectable, this is a fabulous book and one that I rate 10 out of 10! Tansy Poole dreams of weddings, shoes…and chocolateAnd when she inherits a run-down shoe shop tucked away in the village of Sticklepond, Cinderella’s slippers is born – providing footwear gorgeous enough to make any fairy-tale wedding come true. She’ll even sell shoe-shaped chocolates as wedding favors! But soon Tansy feels like she’s staring in her very own Cinderella tale, with two awful stepsisters causing no end of trouble, a long list of chores, and the tall, dark and handsome actor Ivo Hawksley on her doorstep – though sadly he’s more of a Prince brooding than a Prince Charming. Ivo has come to the village to nurse a broken heart, but could a happy ever after be closer than he thinks? This story reads like a ‘twisted fairytale’ for the current and contemporary age, which one can relate to through the compelling, sincere characters and protagonist. Truth-drawing, affecting and full of laugh-out-loud moments this enjoyable read is a real page-turner. Witty, hilarity and brilliant premise this is a fascinating character-study of the ups and downs of any relationship and those seeking ‘true love’. I was so impressed by this superb book that is full of warmth, optimism and fulfillment. Undeniably spectacular, enchanting and totally absorbing ‘chocolate shoes and wedding blues’ is undeniably brilliant! A word of caution to all females who are prone to weakness when contemplating Chocolate...men…shoes…handbags…men dipped in Chocolate…Jimmy Choo; this blissful bestselling book is my guilty pleasure and will be yours too!

This was not a very good book. Took forever to go anywhere and VERY repetitive.
