I had a hard time deciding on a star rating - I'd say 3 stars because I liked it and it was a short and simple read, 4 because I would likely read through it at least one more time and would recommend it to other Christian mommies. Although it is written by and for an LDS audience, I would say any other Christian denomination reader would enjoy and appreciate it. The book celebrates motherhood as an important and divine calling in life. It aims to demonstrate how our work as mommies can (and do) emulate characteristics of the Savior, such as creator, teacher, provider, protector... It also discusses things like forgiveness and the eternal influence of motherhood, among other things. The author used a lot of life experiences that we can relate to in order to make her analogies, which gives it a nice readability. It was a good read on those days I wanted something uplifting without too much commitment. I've been reading this while I nurse my baby and it's been a nice book for that :) Not a really long book, but I like the quick little insights that will come back to mind throughout the day -- like remembering when I wipe the table over and over that Christ cleanses my repetitive sinning the same way, or succoring a child who is making me frustrated with his over-indulgent crying (ahem, no one in particular ...). A worthwhile read.
