Cowboy Dad (2008) - Plot & Excerpts

I really enjoyed Cowboy Dad. We meet Natalie Forrester who is the guest services manager at Bear Creek Ranch and has lived at the ranch her entire life. She is a single mother of a 3 month old girl and has trouble finding a caretaker so the child is with Natalie all the time - even at work. When Natalie see Aaron Reyes drive onto the ranch, she believes he is looking for work, but that is far from the truth. Aaron is a famous rodeo champion and it turns out that Aaron is a part owner of the ranch. He arrives in a beat-up truck so he looks like he is completely broke but because of his fame in the rodeo circuit, he is actually very well off. Even so, he has had his share of heartache. Aaron is a widower who lost is wife when they had been married for less than a year. This book was very well written and it flowed easily. I was hoping for more of a western cowboy story but still liked this book. Even though Aaron was a cowboy, he was a retired rodeo rider and there were lots of horses in the story but it still didn't feel like a western. The character development was very well done. Natalie and Aaron were very likable. I found Aaron to be especially interesting. It was nice to see how easily he interacted with the other staff, guests and Shiloh (the baby). The secondary characters were great additions to the cast and helped the story move along.I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to romance readers. I thought that too much attention was given to the characters unresolved feelings of guilt over the death of a family member. The two main characters had very little interaction. The author also introduced so many side characters that they were slightly hard to tell apart. There were also so many "big problems" that came up that didn't really have anything to do with the story and that weren't resolved in any way. If the author had focused more on the budding relationship than all of the other stuff the book would have been much better.

What do You think about Cowboy Dad (2008)?

Sweet book. Quick read and makes you feel good. Somewhat predictable with a few surprises.

Started off good then seemed like race to the end. Last few chapters not that great

2.5 stars. Super cheesy, lots of gaps and such, but relatively cute, I suppose.

2.5 really. It was a little unrealistic but I kind of liked it anyway.
