I love this author's style.... and the sex is super creative and HOT.... but... I just wish there was less of it. I don't find the story lacking because of too much sex, but I find that just as the story starts to get interesting, it breaks for a long session of hot sex. It's almost as frustrating as those books where the H&h dance around each other for 9/10ths of the book before they finally get it on.I'd been looking forward to this one for quite a while and maybe my expectations were too high, hence only 3 stars. It's all good and then, after things are strained to the breaking point, it seems like the romance between AJ and Cord becomes too formulaic/predictable/boring. All of a sudden all that lovely tension between them evaporates. Quite a bit of the book is taken up with side characters to the point of feeling like a soap opera. I gave it three stars because it was still an entertaining read, but not as good as I'd hoped. I was searching for a cowboy fill and thought this would do perfectly. I know I didn't start with the first in the series, but the first plot didn't call to me as this one did. As much as I was excited to read this it just didn't hit the marks. Cord may have sounded good in the idea of him but his ending was quite lacking. I was expecting something more. The secondary characters in the book were like fillers and I felt no connection with them. Maybe if I had started with the first in the series I wouldn't feel the void. I did however like AJ's voice. I think she was unique and had a strong sense of who she is. The sex scenes were smokin' though! Unfortunately, I doubt I will continue the series. It just didn't hit the spot for me. I guess I will keep looking for the right cowboy love for me.
What do You think about Cowgirl Up And Ride (2008)?
This one really tugged at my heartstrings. I loved it so much!
