The book Crackback by John Coy, is a very inspiring and addictive book. Its story is a wild ride through a high schoolers football career, and the decisions he had to make to be successful. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone teenager or football fan who likes to read about the life of football players, and the pressure that they have on them. Miles is just a regular teenager, except that he is great at football. He has pressure on his shoulders from his coaches and especially his dad. Miles learns that his teammates are taking steroids to get bigger and stronger, and they want him to do the same. This book goes through the tough obstacles that Miles must face while deciding to juice or not to juice. One reason I like this book so much is that it teaches you to never give up. Miles is naturally a very good football player. He one day finds out that he will not be starting in one of the next games. Miles responds by saying, "sometimes a major change happens in such a simple way that you can't believe it. I'm not a starter. I've been starting since fourth grade. How can I not start?" (Coy 87). Miles clearly is questioning his coaches decision to not have him start. By doing this, it just pushes Miles to become better at football. However, his teammates realize his lack of ability and that is when he is offered the steroids. Now, Miles must choose between getting shredded illegally or sit on the bench disappointing his dad and teammates. Another reason why I liked this book so much, is that it has a good family based connection that Miles and his dad share. His dad says, "don't let anybody get to you, just keep trying to improve because no one is perfect at anything" (Coy 134). This scene is right after Miles get demoted to second string. I like this part because it shows the relationship that Miles and his dad possess. His dad clearly has faith in his son and tells him to never give up and that "no one is perfect at anything". Miles knows his dad is right and that is what inspires him to get better and to try to get his starting position back. Overall, this is a great book, and I would definitely read it again.
tJon Coy is a famous author known for his sports books, he wrote a book called CRACKBACK about a young boy named miles who grew up knowing nothing but football. He eat slept and drank football for his whole middle school days he was one of the best in the state next to his one friend Zach he was always a little ahead of him. Zach was taller stronger and faster then miles but in the end that didn't matter.tMiles grew up playing corner back for his middle school team on to high school. Him and his father would play catch in the backyard he had amazing will power and a great mind set to win. There were a few obstacles that trey to slow him down but eh concert and over come. Coach Sathal the defensive back coach who was strict and didn't take anything but perfection on the field. One day during practice miles caught the pass thrown by his quarter back and caught it how his dad taught him, but that's not how coach Sathal wanted him to play there for he was running laps after practice.tZach gave miles a ride home pulling into the driveway of miles house Zach gave miles pills, and told miles it would him the edge he desired for his game but later on Alex finds out he doesn't need them he has everything he needs. This little small town in Pittsburg was about to face a grade a school but they had one secret weapon on there team it's a legendary play.tThis play was only performed when it had to be it was unstoppable I'm. Ot going to get into detail, but there is no way to stop it. There big game winds down to a four point game, do they use CRACKBACK the unstoppable play?

Crackback Review tThe book Crackback is a story about a kid, Miles Manning, who plays football in high school and learns more about life. When he is in the prime of his high school football career the team takes a bad turn. The coach gets cancer and the ignorant assistant coach takes over and cuts Miles. Miles then gets invited to take steroids with his friend Zach. He declines that and Zach and Miles stop being good friends. During the season he meets a girl named Lucia, who he really starts to like. As he gets to know her more he starts to appreciate life outside of football more than he did. He learns that even though his football season isn’t going so well he can have a good life outside of football. During one of the last games he gets put back into the game and makes a game winning mistake to never be able to play again. His mom tells him about the son that died before Miles was born. He would have had an older brother but the baby died when the baby was six months old. This hits him hard but makes him and his family much closer.

I read the book Crackback by John Coy. This is a very good book, and one of my favorites! It takes place on the football field, Miles Mannings house, at Miles' school and at parties. The main character is Miles Manning. Miles is a junior in high school and he also happens to be a star on the football team. They are favorites to be state champions this year until their star quarterback gets hurt. Then one day, Miles' best friend gives him steroids to take. Is it really worth it? Find out by reading this great book! I really like this book because I play football also and a lot of his feelings he feels and the way he does things, I have experienced also. If your looking for a action-packed thriller, then this is the book for you!

Have you ever been in a slump and don't know how to get out of it? Well so did Miles Manning, a star on his high school football team. He is the best corner back on the team. But when he thinks everything is going great, devastation hits him. The team loses their two starting quarterbacks but when he thinks things couldn't get any worse, they do. He also finds out that some of his teammates including his best friends and also having a coach that is going through radiation treatment, and when Miles thinks their season is all over, the unthinkable happens. Miles Manning is a kid who is going through a tough time right now. And when Miles loses his starting spot and the team continues to keep losing, Miles begins to lose focus and get into some pretty big things that have serious consequences such as getting beat up. Through all the problems the team and Miles regains focus and starts to win again until Miles makes a risky decision that puts the teams season on the line. I would recommend this book for kids over the age of 13 who likes football. To really get a good understanding of the book, due to a few references, 13 is a good age. If you're a high school football player who is going through some hard times don't even hesitate! This book would be perfect for you. I would also rate it a 5 out of 5 because it is very interesting and makes you want to keep reading.
