She’d been willing to leave with Casey as his wife four years ago, willing to leave Medellín behind, but that sense of adventure had been stuffed in a box in the back of her mind and thoroughly ignored in favor of living in the present, protecting her daughter and forgetting she had ever recklessly given her heart to a man who had been little more than a forbidden stranger.
