In this book, Ariana tries desperately to hold her new life together but on top of seeing Reed, Dr Meloni is also the school's counselor that was hired following a tragic death cost by Ariana. And not to mention the fact that her ex boyfriend Palmer is very suspcious of her and Kiran's body has been found. At school she has become the new president of the secret society, has Jasper as her boyfriend, and because she's president of Stone and Grave she pretty much has automatic admissions into Princeton and therefore on the surface everything seems perfect. She tries to think of a plan to get rid of Reed and Dr. Meloni so she can still have her new life, which eventually leads to her downfall.I really anticpated this book and it wasn't bad but I think it could have been better. The author left us hanging a bit in the end, I mean does Noelle go to Georgetown as well, since she is featured in this book a couple of times with Reed. And also did everyone find out that Ariana killed other people since she had been released from prison? Did Noelle tell Jasper who Ariana really was? I really wanted Ariana's new friends to find out who she really was and what she had done but it never happened. If I had of wrote this, I would have had that happen at her birthday party (which is a plot hole by the way since in the first book in the series it's stated that Briana Leigh's birthday is in April) but we were left hanging in that regard, and since Private pretty much took place before all of this, we won't find out when that series wraps up either. This was the only book in the series where I didn't feel any empathy for Ariana, I mean her obession with Reed was beyond crazy and annoying. She should have left town a long time ago and left Reed alone! Despite that I have to admit that I cried at the end with Ariana being killed and all (side note: Reed keeps a loaded gun under her pillow?! It's a shock that she hasn't accidentally shot herself one night!) I was looking so forward to this that I read it all in one day and I was hoping there will be another book after this so we can see Ariana's new friends reaction to finding out the truth about her. REALLY?!?!?! okay so I was not expecting THAT ending!! What is the point?? She goes through 6 books of making the perfect, flaw-less life for herself and SPOILER- ruins it all because of a simple grudge. Dude, that doctor guy was obviously kinda necessary (although there is always a way around killing) and if she had just left without trying to get her revenge on Reed, she would be pretty much home-free on a plane to one of her alternate homes cause she is rich. She makes a single mistake and the whole thing is ruined. And the worst part is, I don't know how to feel about it. The entire series is in a killers point of view and you find yourself sympathizing with her. But, you also want killers to me caught.... AHH I felt bad for her bf in the end :( well, enough ranting. This series was pretty good and if you are looking for a series to read, this one really makes you think. Great suspense and action.
