Cut (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

Definitely a 3.5 read. I love a good thriller, and this book did not disappoint. The main character, Keye Street, is a fascinating person to spend time with. She flunked out of the FBI because of a drinking problem, and through the course of this book it's clear that she's getting her feet back under her--financially and mentally. What struck me most about the Street was her empathy. As a profiler, you'd expect her to have insight into why killers do what they do, but she also brings that skill to her PI jobs, even when it's a bail jumper who is shooting at her. While this book goes down quite nicely as a fast and enjoyable thriller, Keye Street is a very enjoyable person to spend time with and I found her backstory great. HIghly highly recommended. It's a rare author who can generate enough suspense in a book to genuinely freak me out, but Amanda Kyle Williams did just that. I loved this book from start to finish. Amanda's writing is deliciously complex enough to thrill this reader, and she has a real talent for writing characters that I truly cared about. I'm on my way to the library now to pick up the next two books in this fantastic series. This is an author to watch! Highly recommended.

What do You think about Cut (2011)?

Good up until the conclusion. I was lost on how Keye figured out who was doing the killing.

There was way too much description and repetition of the gory details of the crimes.
