Great beach, summer read. The book has nothing to do with daddy going hunting and why the title is Daddy's gone hunting is still baffling me. Kate and Hannah are sisters, the lost their mother to a accident when the were very little. The family business is losing money, and Kate has concerns. She ask a former employee to meet her and the business blows up. While the investigators are trying to find who did this, they uncover information to two murders of young woman. Mary Higgins Clark is still my favorite storyteller. This book may not have held the same excitement as some of the others, but as usual I couldn't hardly put the book down. The book opens with an antique replica furniture store 2 sisters one with the family business & one a fashion designer, an alcoholic womanizing father whom demanded to be called by his name and his fluzie, a faithful friend who used to work as a craftsman for the family and his wife, and the man currently in charge of the business and bookkeeping. The first sister found something wrong with one of the desks, and called her trusted craftsman friend to verify it for her. There is an explosion, killing him and causing her to go into a coma. The other sister steps in putting the pieces together, even endangering her life to get to the bottom of what is being blamed on her sister and the friend.

A very good book. A lot of character development. I liked the writing style, too.
