Small town story set in 1942 during WW2. Cole Ambrose has come back to his home town to be a teacher. Cole can't join the war because he has a a club foot. He has a strained relationship with his Dad. Cole falls in love with a farm girl of German decent. Her family has been the victims of overt racism. I loved Cole and his protective nature over the heroine. This story made me think about redemption and understanding and the acceptance of what we are and what we could be. Baca buku ini jd inget Rainwater-nya Sandra Brown, hmpir setipe-lah.Lbih cenderung k drama keluarga drpd k romance (mgkin krn hot scenenya udh dbabat guntingnya penerbit?).Emang agak trpancing emosi sih bc ini,tp lebih kpd sosok Carolyn Glass yg cntik tp bitchy n full manipulasi,jg Ellis Watts yg guanteng kek bintang film tp d sini menempati peran antagonis.Dua sosok ini yg bkin aku betah membalik halaman demi halaman coz pngin tau ap yg bkal mrk lakukan n balasan ap yg akan mrk trima.Selebihnya sih,biasa2 saja.
Nice story about rising above your situation. Not super compelling or anything, but worth reading.
