Dançando Sobre Cacos De Vidro (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

I can't stop thinking about this book. I fell in love with the characters and their beautiful flaws and the tender relationships that stemmed from those beautiful flaws. The story unfolded with grace and opened and broke my heart so many times but ultimately left me feeling hopeful. Lucy and Mickey's love story has become one of my all-time literary favorites. That being said, this is a hard book to read. You don't want to put it down but you are also afraid to see what comes next. In my opinion, it is well worth the journey and the tears to discover the beauty of it all. I can't stop thinking about this book. What do You think about Dançando Sobre Cacos De Vidro (2013)?

I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and found it hard to put down. I was totally involved in the lives of the families, but by the time I got to the end, I was a little tired of how "good" everyone was - especially Lily and Lucy. They were just a little bit too forgiving and it got to be a hard to believe. And of course, by the end there was way too much crying (and not by me). Maudlin is defined as "showing or expressing too much emotion especially in a foolish or annoying way" and "effusively sentimental" and that is the perfect adjective for this novel.
