Daniel Mackenzie, Un Sacré Coquin (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
3.5 starsIt took me a while to really get into the story, but then I was hooked. I liked Violet and felt that her difficult circumstances were well portrayed.Unfortunately there were a couple of things that held this back from being a five-star rating. - By the end of the book I was rolling my eyes at the utter perfection of Daniel: He's brilliant, he's gorgeous, he's generous, he's personable, he can cook delicious omelettes, he's an expert fighter, etc., etc.- I was also quite shocked at the casual way the book dealt with an extreme incidence of vigilante justice. None of the characters so much as flickered at something that I found to be horrifying. Loved it!Daniel was adorable in this book as all the Mackenzie's XD Loved violet and I really felt sorry for her, no women or person should go through what she suffered. And along side her I'm really thankful for Daniel being in her life.It really touching me at the ending when she said that violet was just a being eating sleeping walking but not alive, but when Daniel showed up in her life she can breath she's alive.Kinda hated her mom, no matter how she feels she's still a mother who is supposed to look after her children not the other way around, she was so self indulged in herself to the degree that she didn't realize that violet was suffering or have been suffering for over 10 years.Loved the part when violet meets the other Mackenzie's and gets to know them, and I noticed a pattern here after the first book "The madness of lord Ian Mackenzie" Ian started to help the rest directly or indirectly in there live matches, kinda like a match maker XD And plus fellows also appear at the ending of each book to make an arrest or something, these were the two patterns I noticed in this series and I love it.I know I keep saying I love it to all my books but I can't help it I just do, and I can't read a book unless I'm interested in it so I know I'm gonna love it.Overall great book and I can't wait for the next "Rules for a proper governess"
