All through this book I kept thinking it would get better on the next page. All the build ups and most of the action was great but the main character and her interaction with Jaf were horrible. Jaf was given no personality where as there are paragraphs of the main characters problems repeated again and again.I wont read anything from this author again. I really should have stopped after book 2. I love, love, love Saintcrow's worldbuilding. There are some fabulous touches as the epilogue uses artifacts like historical essays that totally support the culture she created.I liked Dante best when she was kicking ass. The first book had the most character development as Japh learns about being human and Dante learns to love him in spite of herself. I didn't love the inequality in the relationship. Even with Dante's enhancements and Japh's fall, there was just too much dominance/submission going on, and Dante is not naturally submissive.Very much worth reading.
I'm 70 pages in and it's certainly interesting. The jury's still out, with so much yet to read...

Only reason I'm still reading is because I always finish books once I start them, but not enjoying
