Interesting, but not intriguing-- although, it definitely had the potential to be. I was disappointed by all the wasted time and lull's in between scenes. This could have been more fast paced and more time spent on the "dark between". I expected more about the lost souls trapped between, instead it focused on the three boring humans...Also, the last three chapters were redundant and didn't do much to make me eager for a book 2 (I'm assuming there will be...) I really can't tell you how surprised I was at The Dark Between. I picked it up on a whim and it held me captive from beginning to end! I really, really enjoyed reading this book. The writing was fluid, the characters were likable, but not cookie cutter and the historical setting was pretty fascinating! I especially enjoyed that the characters seemed to grow during the course of the novel.I gave this 4 stars because for me, it's clearly a book that needs a sequel. The ending, without a sequel, seems unfinished. Regardless, I still had a great time reading this book and will surely read it again sometime!

By chapter three I was useless for the rest of the day. I couldn't put it down. Great book!
