I really really wanted to love this book because the story sounded great. He needs a cure and mate to help his clan and she is the best Doctor around to help him as her research is about the immune system. And there is chemistry between them, but she is human and he's not. That's the story but, I found I wasn't connected to the characters, I found that Phoebe trusted Dylan way too quick and left with him to New Mexico. Also on the private plan Dylan sent, there was a bed and after meeting him, 24 hours that is they were in bed together and she sort of new he was not human and accepted it. Although, this is fiction and not real, but even in fiction Phoebe accepting Dylan was a bit quick she's a scientist and works on logic. I didn't get it.Anyway, for me the main plot got pushed aside and it became about Dylan and Phoebe having sex after sex after sex. There were pages and pages of it that I found I was skimming through it. I found that there was no build up between Phoebe and Dylan they met and then they were in bed together not being able to get enough of each other.I couldn't connect to this book and I won't be reading the rest of the series. Abandoned half way through. PDA's during the death of a family member! WTF! Sex the day after she meets him. Obvious twist is going to be oh she's a shapeshifter too! Hah other reviewers with more stomach to finish this crap have confirmed that and a gratuitous rape scene to boot. Glad I missed that. Not to mention the totally unnecessary death of teenager. It would've been better if she had gotten sick later and was saved. This book is being put into my goes way too far over the edge of decency pile and I will never touch another of her books again.
