I once heard Mr. Savage in an interview, talk about being a fan of Stephen King, so I cannot say I was surprised to see him try his hand at this. Thank you however, for not putting all your characters in a closet to see who would come out alive. LOL. I liked the story development. There were a few spots where it jumped around a bit or I felt it could have used more explanation (where was Frankie for example when Mr. Godwin and his son found him, and how did he get there?) but for the most part, well done. I thought it weird that half way through the book I found myself liking Frankie; it was cool, and unexpected. I don't remember adding this to my to-read list, but my past self proved trustworthy, and this was a good read. This is definitely one of the better mysteries I've read. Many do not meet my expectations, but this one delivered. The premise -- 25-30 years ago, six kids got lost in an abandoned mine ... only five came out. Now, someone is after the five survivors and killing them off one by one. It looks like the killer is the ghost of the sixth kid. Is there really a ghost involved? Some other supernatural force? What really happened in the mine? This has lots of great secrets, creepy scenes, and a big, big climax/showdown that is highly satisfying. This would be a great creepy movie.(Surprisingly, this book has no swearing or sex in it, and the violence isn't too graphic.)
What do You think about Dark Memories (2013)?
Loved this book! Chilling, exciting, and with wild twists and turns I never saw coming.

Not my favorite. A little on the weird side. However, it is clean and an easy read.

Fun read. Not really horror but plenty spooky for me.
