I was really looking forward to this book because I liked the novella so much. I had such high hopes after reading the short story of Ian leading into this full story. The book was not awful, but it was not what I was expecting or hoping for. It was still good though. I thought this was going to be my favorite. Sadly, it was not. I am looking forward to reading of Ryland and his obsession (it seems) with angels. Disappointing (: I was really looking forward to Ian's story, especially after reading the novella 'Forever in Darkness'. His Angel made it a very long read, how could she doubt his feelings for her??? I could understand his self doubt and self loathing, because of the curse, but it was just OTT on the negative. And the way the order treated his angel was shocking and almost brutal, I didn't like any of them in this book. In fact the only character I did respect in the book was Cardiff, at least he knew what he wanted...
