Darth Paper Strikes Back: An Origami Yoda Book (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
Book 2 in the Origami Yoda case files was yet another quick read. Thomas read it before I could this time, and has already read Jabba the Puppet (even though we don't have book 3, Fortune Wookie). I will wait til we get #3 to read them in order. Anyway, a rival origami figure, yep, Darth Paper, arrives on the scene and the Dark Side begins wreaking havoc throughout the school. Again, no spoilers, but it all ends as one might expect in a battle between good and evil in the Star Wars universe (Origami Style). My son read me this tale of the interaction of junior high students dealing with typical problems via consultations with Dwight's origami Yoda. As is typical, this creative psychological prop is not appreciated in school, so Dwight faces being deported to another school. The book consists of case files (actually short narratives told by different students) compiled as evidence to present to the school board to keep Dwight at his current school. In the end, Dwight transfers to where he wanted to be, leaving the reader to wonder how much was coincidence and how much Dwight's manipulation. Wonder what will happen in the next tale.
