Great book! I stumbled across the audio version as I like Paul Thornley's narrations on some of the Stephen leather books and was very impressed. A lot of the scenes/phrases could have come straight from a Leather novel although Simon seems more focussed on a single plot; which I liked a lot. The various characters are well described and you feel an affinity to more than one 'main' character as the story evolves. I was skeptical that 'a day in a hotel' would have been a bit boring, but it was far from it. With some good action thanks to Scope, some sense of feeling towards Michael and Elena and overall a very plausible, intriguing story that I finished in just 2 days. Recommended! An action-oriented read punctuated by short chapters, most of which end with a cliffhanger. It makes for quick reading with a high body count. In many ways, it reminded me of the movie "Die Hard." A London hotel is taken over by terrorists following a quick succession of bombings in the city. Told from multiple perspectives and with several interesting twists, it's an interesting, fast-moving read. Entertaining and sometimes scary.
What do You think about Das Ultimatum (2012)?
Very good plotting and pacy, slightly unbelievable in places but good fun, made you come back
