This book is based on addresses given by M. Russell Ballard at General Conference in April 2008 and April 1991. The talks have strengthened me in many ways!"Second, don't overschedule yourselves or your children. We live in a world that is filled with options. If we are not careful, we will find every minute jammed with social events, classes, exercise time, book clubs, scrapbooking, Church callings, music, sports, and Internet, and our favorite TV shows......Families need unstructered time in which relationships can deepen and real parenting can take place. Take time to listen, to laugh, and to play together." It has been a while since I have read an inspirational doctrine book and I thought that this one was going to be more of the "women are great and we love them" writing that usually accompanies a book like this. I was wrong. Though raising children and a family is always a sore spot with me this book made me feel empowered that as a Woman of Christ I can do anything and that my measure of worth is not counted in the children I raise or my marital status.
What do You think about Daughters Of God (2009)?
Short (read in 45 minutes), but powerful book. Reminds us women/mothers what our focus should be.
