Day Of Sacrifice: The Prophecy (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
I never would've guessed a few years ago that I'd end up loving novellas. It's so much fun to read a shorter novel and know that the next one is coming quickly.I loved the premise of this story, with one child from a family, destined to be their family's sacrifice. Except, for Flora, a terrible secret has been hidden from her, one that could change her destiny. And then there's Julian, her guardian angel, who protects her in the few days leading up to her sacrifice. But nothing is as it seems and Flora's world is about to be turned upside down! Very well written story set within a modern world close to ours, but with some witchcraft, angels, and worship of gods in a caliber close to some of our mythological gods. I liked the story quite a bit, good character development, a unique plot line, and interesting mythology, but I hated the ending. I think it's supposed to be a cliffhanger, but really it's pulled off as seeming like the author just decided she was done writing and tied off the end abruptly. Interested in reading what's next and other writings from this author, but hoping the endings or cliffhangers get better.
