I'm a bit confused with the storyline, after I finished listening to an unabridged audio formatted version, which was narrated by William Dufris. I admit, I really liked William Dufris narration, he read the main character, Damian, really well. We could feel the humor, sarcasm and all comical elements in this story. That was at least, one good reason for listening to this first book to the end. For me something was missing, from the beginning till the end. I missed some background information about Damian's family, his old mentor and master Zola, about his sister Sam. So many informations we didn't get in this book. But maybe there was a reason for that, to keep an mysterious elements through the series. Anyway I liked the story in general, and when the next second book get released as an audiobook, I'll enjoy it, too!! Days Gone Bad by Eric R. AsherPrint Length: 259 pagesPage Numbers Source ISBN: 1482567431My Review~~I love this cover with the main character, Damian, on it. This cover is awesome and reminds me of like a zombie movie or the walking dead. This is one book that is not for people who don't like blood and guts! Damian is a smart ass character that will have you rolling with the antics he pulls. That is not counting the awesome banter between him and the other characters! By time your done with the book, you will feel bad for ferrets. This book has got to be one of my favorites, because it is full of action, wise cracks, zombies, demons, and crazed vampires. That is only part of the fabulous creatures that are lurking in the depths of these pages. This story line is one action packed adventure that will have you jumping into the second book. This author rocked or Zombified my socks off! Gosh, I can't explain what an unexpected gem of a book this is. This is one author to watch, because I can guarantee that there is big things in store based off this read. I haven't been this excited about a book series in a while. I'm like a giddy teenage girl in a room full of boys but the boys are books in this instant! I love the hidden reference to the seventh son which goes unanswered. I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! I'm dying to know what will be revealed in the next book! Amazon Book Description~Vesik, Book 1My name is Damian Valdis Vesik. I am a necromancer, an ability feared and hated as much as the powers my master and I set ourselves against. We've vanquished many evils, but now something is releasing an old darkness, forcing us to hunt an enemy beyond anything I’ve faced before. I was already busy enough with vampires, fairies, witches, Watchers, weddings, and … damn, I need a vacation.
What do You think about Days Gone Bad (2013)?
Was a lot of fun. Liked the different spin on the necromancer idea. Will buy the sequel for sure.

I didn't get it. Just wasn't doing anything for me. 40% in and it's back on my shelf.

I'd review it, but I edited it, so I might be just a bit biased ;-)
