De Vuurtoren Van Connemara (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

A book that is a love story but it is also has a ghost in it. But I went with it for it was Ireland and I wanted to see how this story would play out. Catlin, who is the ghost is has also left behind two children and the love of her life. She is hoping for two things that she can see or appear to her children and that her husband does not fall in love with someone else. This fine until Ellen Trawton, is tired of her over bearing mother, a job she hates and a man she does not want to be engaged to any more. She leaves London, for Ireland does not tell anyone and she is not looking for any type of romance. Well then you know the story takes off from there and is really a good story with the different characters that give it a twist along with the description of the landscapes of Ireland set for a nice story. I got this book from net galley. Well, I do not think I am going to finish this book unless I skim through..that is unusual for me. I usually slog on through even when I am less than enthusiastic.I liked the setting and the feel of small village Ireland but I have not felt any bond with Ellen. She is a spoiled rich girl, unhappy with her life but seemingly powerless to to anything about it till she totally runs away...I just cannot get any rapport with her. She seems immature and self centered. She jumped from the frying pan into the fire....too soon, too much with Conor. The "ghost" chapters did not work for me.I am not going to finish this book, and that is rare.
