Although this is my first book of The Devereaux's Dime Store Mystery you'll be sure to know it won't be my last. I will read the other books she wrote in the series before this. I can't wait for the next one. If only all of us single, females, had a couple of hunks come to our aid we'd all be in heaven. But at least we can read and enjoy her stories and imagine being in her shoes!! It's a cozy mystery but not boring. I just love Gram. She reminds me of my sister, there's 10 years between us and she's taken care of me since I was born and still is the head female of our family and there never a time you can question her loyalty. A wonderful book. This is a great cozy mystery about a young, single woman (Dev) who owns a dime store and creates gift baskets to support herself and her grandmother, Birdie. She has a complicated family history with a father who was arrested for manslaughter and a mother who left her with the grandmother and never was heard from again. Dev has good friends, two hunky boyfriends, Jake and Noah, who are trying to win her affections, and a good life in the small town. I loved the naughty moments especially getting caught making out with Jake, while he was undercover by the Sheriff. One of the ways that she keeps in the black financially is by hosting book club and sewing meetings. At the book club meeting the special quest speaker was so unpopular with the members he left early. He was also very rude with Dev. The writer was found dead out back of the dime store and the fence post from Dev's store was the murder weapon. Dev must solve this mystery and get things back to normal if she wants her store to survive. She has had experience solving crimes in the two earlier books with help from her friends. In the previous one, she helped clear her friend Boone who was charged with murder. If you love cozies like I do you will enjoy this book, and with the love triangle it makes the book so much better and interesting. I have read the two previous books in the series and I like this one better.
What do You think about Dead Between The Lines (2014)?
I like this series. Probably more than I like the Scumbag River series. Totally team Jake.
