What I found most annoying about this book was that none of the issues surrounding the Vegas vampire takeover were actually dealt with. They were discussed at great length, and then dropped midway through the novel. It was like reading two distinct books: the first half about Vegas vampire takeover drama, and the second half about fairies, foreign vamps, and weres. Wtf? Neither half was even remotely close to being resolved. It was way too scattered to be enjoyable, even for the trashy brain candy that it is.Also irritating were the one-liners that ended almost every single chapter. "And then he was dead." "And then I drank an illegal drug." "And then we moved the dead body." "And then [A PIVOTAL THING HAPPENED OMGZ:]." There was one chapter that I can recall that didn't end in this manner. This is the tenth installment in the Sookie Stackhouse series. This one is nice because it has a lot of good Eric Northman scenes. It is getting darker in the series. There is more death going on and Sookie is getting darker and more violent reactions. I'm not sure where this is coming from. Is she losing a part of her or is it the style of the book where Harris is just trying to keep the readers engaged? This isn't one of my favorites, even if Eric is very involved with Sookie at this point. There is even "I love you" shown and swapped back and forth. We are able to see some limitations in Eric and see a bond that Boring Bill has with his "sister". This is again, totally different from the HBO series.
What do You think about Dead In The Family (2010)?
God, this was a mess, but still entertaining. Anything could happen next.
