Deadpool Mata A Los Clásicos (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
This follows the events of Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, which I have not read, but know the story of.Deadpool hatches a new plan to kill all the superheroes and villains: to enter classic literature and kill the characters they were inspired from, hence ensuring nobody ever thought them up.This comic gets a little repetitive; Deadpool meets Captain Ahab, Deadpool kills Captain Ahab. Deadpool meets Tom Sawyer, Deadpool kills Tom Sawyer. Etc. etc. I did enjoy seeing the theoretical links between classic characters and modern Marvel characters, and the band of characters put together to stop Deadpool is a fun collection. I think the idea of merging Marvel and characters from classic literature has a lot of promise, there just wasn't a huge amount of variety and building in the action of the story. My favourite thing about this one was probably the art. The colour work is really great, often taking on an almost painted quality (particularly with the underwater scenes). All in all, this was a decent story, but I'm not sure it lived up to its potential. I loved everything about this!!!Such an odd and brilliant little story where Deadpool after attempting to kill the entire Marvel Universe sets his sights on the literary inspirations for the characters in the Marvel Universe. The covers are GORGEOUS and the artwork, though a little lacking at times, is forgiven by the sheer tenacity of this story!Incredibly brilliant little gem that Leo, my comic book guy, saved for me because he thought I would definitely appreciate it and he was dead(pool) right!
What do You think about Deadpool Mata A Los Clásicos (2013)?
A nice concept, poorly executed. Plenty of gore, yet censored swearing.
