It has been two years since Adrien last saw Jake. He is now in a committed relationship and his book has been optioned by an indie movie studio. Jake is married and an inspector with the LAPD. Adrien is at a dinner party when one of his dinner companions drops dead. As luck has it, Jake is in charge of the investigation. Adrien allows himself to be dragged into the investigation- even though he is sort of a suspect. Plus, his heart condition is getting worse. Adrien must deal with expected revelations about Jake. Things that show him how little he knew about Jake. Jake who is still in the closet with no plans of coming out. Adrien is trying to solve the murder, resolve his hurt and anger feelings toward Jake and not die. But Jake and Adrien might not have a choice as to how their futures play out. my favorite so far!!!it's so varied, full of plot twists and incredibly MYSTERIOUS, i found myself occasionally analyzing everything like Adrien did,and yes, coming up to the most of the same conclusions, my heart went out to him with everything concerning his relationship(and non relationship) with Jake (who is totally my type, *sigh* blond, military, and stern, too bad he's a closet gay >< and fictional, can't forget that :P )anyway it's the best book in the series. TOTALLY RECOMMENDED. for all MM lovers and mystery fans.
