In this book in the Death on Demand series, Max gets a commission to go to a house party on an isolated offshore island with a single owner and no cell or radio service to try to determine who was the murderer of the former owner at a party 18 months previously. Of course, Annie goes with him. Everyone at the party (with the exception of Annie and Max) had reasons to wish the former owner dead. There are family problems, fear of a murderer on the loose and no means of escape, along with the usual red herrings and folks creeping around the woods and many fewer references to other mysteries than usual in this series.
