My Hunger is another novella in the Inside Out Series. It continues the relationship between Mark and Crystal. This story reveals another side of Mark that he doesn’t want anyone else to see. It also explains what was going on with Mark, while Chris and Sara went to Paris in Revealing Us. I enjoyed this book because it continues to humanize Mark. He seems to be this unfeeling control freak, but as I stated in my review of Master Undone, there are many layers to this character. In this story Mark is still reeling over the death of Rebecca and is blaming himself. He is struggling for the control that he holds so dear, but the independent and direct Crystal could be what he needs to quiet the demons within his soul. As with all of the books in the series this one is smoking hot. I feel as though the author has a better feel for writing from Mark’s point of view in this story than she did in His Secrets as Chris. I found this to be an incredible look into what makes up Mark the man. Where we usually see his icy stoic “Master” façade, we start to learn more about feelings and emotions. Dealing with so much at once, including his mother’s cancer, Crystal is the only one that is able to delve behind his icy exterior. And now he faced with the growing attraction to a woman he usually would not be involved with and the fear that he can no longer be the Master he is used to being. While the series can be read without reading the novellas I think the readers experience would be lessened if they don’t included them. I was given a copy for a honest review.

Lisa Renee Jones, this is a new author for me. This was too short for my taste. Mark Compton's world is really being torn apart. He is dealing with his business, his mother's illness, grief for a woman he feels he should of been more to. Then he meets a feisty Crystal Smith who is his mother's assistant. She intrigues him though, but she is not his typical woman. The problem I had with this is that I need to go back and read the other books in this series. This is definitely not a stand alone.
