Excellent book about what can happen when you are not honest with another no matter what the reason. In the book Catherine comes to WY to marry Peter. They both have kept secrets from each other for different reasons. Also it shows what can happen when you jump to conclusions, how it can hurt someone without meaning too. The story was easy to follow and I found I couldn't put it down. It showed what life was like back in 1887. I loved this story about a mail order bride! The only thing I did not like about this story is that Catherine, Peter, Clara (Peter's mother), and Greta (Catherine's sister) all had things that they needed to tell one another but no one would just say it. For example, Clara took matters into her own hands by hiring a detective to retrieve information about Catherine, instead, of just talking to her and getting to know her. It was just kinda irritating. BUT, other than that, I loved this story, the characters, the history, and how it ended. I cannot wait to read the second book!
What do You think about Deeply Devoted (2011)?
The writing in this book was very choppy. The storyline was good though.

Really enjoyed this novel. Tragic beginnings but an excellent ending.

Written by an eight grader for eight graders. Horribly written.
